Keen to see an Iberia A350 up in Amsterdam or a KlasJet B737-500 in sunny Rimini? This is what happens if international football teams are on the move. Find out which team is using which plane for their away travels!

It may not be related to the World Cup, but in this day and age, we should count ourselves lucky if wet get to see any international football at all. Before the UEFA teams all go into action in the Nations League again, there will be a big round of friendly matches all across the continent.

Norway vs. Israel (in Oslo)

Israel will visit Oslo to play a friendly against Norway, before heading South again, to Prague, for their next game in the UEFA Nations League, against the Czech Republic. They will travel with Israir:

Lithuania vs. Faroe Islands (in Vilnius)

The Faroe team has a trip to the Baltic states on the cards. First stop is Vilnius for a friendly, before they head off to Riga. In Latvia, the perennial outsiders of European football could make their move into League C perfect. But before that, Atlantic Airways will take them to Lithuania:

San Marino vs. Latvia (in Serravalle)

In another clash among lower-ranked teams, Latvia will probably have an easy task against San Marino. Both sides are renowned for a fairly physical edge. San Marino's team of part-timers is struggling at the best of times however. With the Air Baltic Boeing 737s gone, the Airbus A220 or Bombardier C-Series has taken over on sports charter duties there:

Portugal vs. Andorra (in Lisbon)

For Andorra's trip to almost neighboring Portugal, there might be a flight from Barcelona or similar to Lisbon on the cards. But it is just too early to tell properly. The visitors will fly out to Malta for their next assignment the day after the game though, using one of Trade Air's Airbus A320s for their trip into the middle of the Mediterranean.

Bulgaria vs. Gibraltar (in Sofia)

In similar fashion as with Andorra, it is too early to tell how exactly the Gibraltar team will arrive in Sofia. But they will also leave the day after the game, on to their next match in San Marino, a destination as usual reached via Rimini.

Slovenia vs. Azerbaijan (in Ljubljana)

Away, home and then away is the fixture list for the Azerbaijan team, which means a lot of travel from and to their remote home base in Baku. First stop on their road trip is Ljubljana for a friendly against Slovenia. They will travel there with their national flag carrier, using one of its A319s. The "home" game after that will take place in Croatia however.

Belgium vs. Switzerland (in Leuven)

A game that should have taken place in Qatar was now re-scheduled to Belgium. Switzerland are traveling from and to Basel because this is where their next game in the Nations League will take place.

Germany vs. Czech Republic (in Leipzig)

The German team takes the game against their neighbors from the Czech Republic close to the Czech border, in Leipzig. The visitors will arrive there from Prague with CSA.

France vs. Finland (in St-Denis)

Finland, qualified for the first time for a final tournament in 2021, are going on a road trip to France and Bulgaria. First stop is Paris, where they will arrive a couple of days before the match against 2018 world champions France. They are using a Finnair EMB-190 for this trip, which will later take them to Sofia and then home to Helsinki.

Netherlands vs. Spain (in Amsterdam)

Another team to take to the road is Spain. First up for them is a trip to the Netherlands for a friendly. They will travel to Amsterdam with Iberia, using an Airbus A350-900. The same equipment will be used for the flight to Basel after the game, giving Basel a first landing of an Iberia A350 and indeed a first A350 in the passenger version.

Turkey vs. Croatia (in Istanbul, Besiktas Stadium)

Croatia are embarking on a road trip that takes them south first, before heading far north to Stockholm. First up they play Turkey in Istanbul, before then flying across the continent, to Stockholm.

Denmark vs. Sweden (in Copenhagen, Brøndby)

There seems to be no inbound flight for the Swedish team to Copenhagen. But this could be due to a meeting point in the very South of Sweden, which is right next to Copenhagen. For the return immediately after the game, an SAS A320 is called for.

Romania vs. Belarus (in Proiesti)

Just a small plane for the Belarus team that would be more used to traveling on Belavia's Boeing 737s. This time it will be an Embraer EMB-175 for their trip to Bucharest, before taking a bus out to Proiesti.

Poland vs. Ukraine (in Chorzow)

The Polish team plays host to Ukraine in the small town of Chorzow, outside Katowice. The Ukraine team will arrive there with Ukraine Airlines International. They will travel to Leipzig to face Germany the day after the match in Chorzow
