11 June 2021   Turkey vs. Italy (in Rome)   Group A will start the pan-European tournament with a game between hosts Italy and Turkey in Rome. While the Italians will arrive from their regular training base in Coverciano near Florence, Turkey have set up camp before the tournament in Germany. A Turkish Airlines Airbus A330-300 with special decals took them from Antalya to Paderborn and will most likely also take them from Paderborn to Rome for the opening game. Another charter flight has been announced to take supporters from Istanbul to the game at the Stadio Olimpico.   TK3231 IST xxxx-xxxx PAD A333 (09/06/21, ferry flt) TK3232 PAD 1600-1800 FCO A333 (09/06/21) TK3233 FCO xxxx-2015 IST A333 (09/06/21, ferry flt) TK3241 IST 1530-1710 FCO A333 (10/06/21) TK3233 IST 0900-1030 FCO A333 (12/06/21, ferry flt) TK3234 FCO xxxx-xxxx GYD A333 (12/06/21) TK3235 GYD 2015-2220 IST A333 (12/06/21, ferry flt) A Turkish Airlines A330-300 seen at Madrid-Barajas in March 2020.

UEFA EURO 2024 - 15 June 2024

Six more teams join the action on the second day of EURO 2024. In the afternoon, Switzerland and Hungary meet in Cologne. The evening belongs to Spain and Croatia and then Italy and Albania who play their respective matches in Berlin's Olympiastadion and Dortmund's Westfalenstadion. Three matches in one day will be the standard for the best part of the first week. UEFA is looking to get as many matches in as somehow possible without making the tournament too long. Hungary vs. Switzerland (in Cologne) After failing to qualify on a number of occasions, Hungary are at the final tournament for the third time running. They will play Switzerland in Cologne - and the Swiss may have some bad memories about this particular stadium. This is the ground where they lost a penalty shootout against Ukraine at the 2006 World Cup without a single goal scored. For both teams, this is an early opportunity to score points before facing favourites Germany in the latter rounds of the group stage. Wi...

Germany vs. Scotland (in Munich) Munich will host the opening game of the much-awaited EURO 2024. As is the tradition in the EURO Championships, the host team will play the first match, so Germany will face Scotland in Group A. While Germany have had their bad moments in past tournaments, they will hope for a new dawn under new coach Julian Nagelsmann. The reactivation of Toni Kroos may be key to the host team's performance. Scotland in the meantime are the clear underdogs in this opening clash. But will they be able to come up with something to surprise the Germans? Traveling supporters from Scotland are known to be very creative with their ways of travel. Nonetheless, there will be a few charter flights from Scotland, notably from the country's football capital Glasgow: SR8027 GLA 0800-1100 MUC A319 9A-MUC (13/06/24) CAT511 GLA 1000-1250 MUC B738 OY-ASF (13/06/24) EZE9501 GLA 1030-1320 IGS  E170  G-CMPI (13/06/24) EDC900 GLA 1020-1318 MUC E35L G-SUGR (13/06/24) TVS70J DND 11...

1 June 2021 Poland vs. Russia (in Wroclaw)   Thanks to their head coach Stanslav Cherchesov, Russia have been preparing in Austria for major tournaments quite a few times already. They did so in 2021 as well, and then travelled to their first pre-tournament friendly in Wroclaw against Poland with S7 Airlines:   SBI8205 INN 1715-1830 WRO A319 VP-BHK (31/05/21) SBI8206 WRO 0105-0430 SVO A319 VP-BHK (02/06/21)   Croatia vs. Armenia (in Velika Gorica) KM7014 MLA 0430-1000 EVN A20N 9H-NEO (30/05/21) KM7015 EVN 1130-1300 ZAG A20N 9H-NEO (30/05/21) KM7016 ZAG 1700-1920 ARN A20N 9H-NEO (02/06/21)   Kosovo vs. San Marino (in Pristina)   After losing 0-7 in Cagliari against Italy, San Marino will take on supposedly easier opponents in Pristina. But watch out for the Kosovarians, as they showed some formidable displays in the Nations League and were in the mix for a spot at the final tournament until very late. EURO 2020 – what are we in for?

Bild
Postponed from last year, EURO 2020 will now take place from 11 June to 11 July in 11 countries and 11 stadiums. While 11 as a number of players is also very important in football, these facts all come by coincidence though. Initial plans were for the tournament to be held in even more cities, but the current and past circumstances have dictated terms on this matter.   The opening game will take place in Rome on 11 June and will see a rejuvenated Italy facing a highly-motivated Turkey. 50 matches later, the tournament final will take at another iconic venue of European football, Wembley Stadium in London. In between 11 June and 11 July, many exciting stories will be created – and many a mile will be flown by the 24 teams involved in the competition.
