1 June 2021 Poland vs. Russia (in Wroclaw)   Thanks to their head coach Stanslav Cherchesov, Russia have been preparing in Austria for major tournaments quite a few times already. They did so in 2021 as well, and then travelled to their first pre-tournament friendly in Wroclaw against Poland with S7 Airlines:   SBI8205 INN 1715-1830 WRO A319 VP-BHK (31/05/21) SBI8206 WRO 0105-0430 SVO A319 VP-BHK (02/06/21)   Croatia vs. Armenia (in Velika Gorica) KM7014 MLA 0430-1000 EVN A20N 9H-NEO (30/05/21) KM7015 EVN 1130-1300 ZAG A20N 9H-NEO (30/05/21) KM7016 ZAG 1700-1920 ARN A20N 9H-NEO (02/06/21)   Kosovo vs. San Marino (in Pristina)   After losing 0-7 in Cagliari against Italy, San Marino will take on supposedly easier opponents in Pristina. But watch out for the Kosovarians, as they showed some formidable displays in the Nations League and were in the mix for a spot at the final tournament until very late. With the club season now over, the preparation for the EURO 2020 is in full swing, all across the continent now. Every team is looking for ideal opponents to be ready for their start into the postponed tournament. Here is a look at what has been moving where until 31 May 2021.   23 May 2021   Ukraine vs. Bahrain (in Kharkiv)   The first reported game happened in Kharkiv, where the Ukraine hosted Bahrain for a one-off friendly. While other teams from outside Europe would usually embark on a tour for several games, Bahrain travelled back home the day after the game, which ended 1-1.   GF7020 BAH 0900-1400 HRK A20N A9C-TB (20/05/21) GF7021 HRK 1410-xxxx BAH A20N A9C-TB (24/05/21)   27 May 2021   Turkey vs. Azerbaijan (in Alanya)   Two traditional befriended countries meeting before a final tournament is an absolute classic. Turkey hosted Azerbaijan in Alanya, before they would go into camp in the region and long before they would travel to Baku actually, where their base camp during EURO

EURO 2020 – what are we in for?

Postponed from last year, EURO 2020 will now take place from 11 June to 11 July in 11 countries and 11 stadiums. While 11 as a number of players is also very important in football, these facts all come by coincidence though. Initial plans were for the tournament to be held in even more cities, but the current and past circumstances have dictated terms on this matter.   The opening game will take place in Rome on 11 June and will see a rejuvenated Italy facing a highly-motivated Turkey. 50 matches later, the tournament final will take at another iconic venue of European football, Wembley Stadium in London. In between 11 June and 11 July, many exciting stories will be created – and many a mile will be flown by the 24 teams involved in the competition. Belgium vs. Denmark (in Leuven) Travelling abroad is a tricky thing for the Danes at the moment, due to the quarantine restrictions they have been made to follow. They still have a chance of making it to the finals tournament though. The prospect of having to beat a strong Belgian team is not too promising however. The Danish team arrived in Brussels from Copenhagen with The Great Dane Airlines: DW721 CPH 1100-1230 BRU E195 OY-GDA (17/11/20) DW722 BRU 1000-1120 CPH E195 OY-GDA (19/11/20) Poland vs. Netherlands (in Katowice) Both teams are still playing for a spot in the Finals, in a group that is extremely tight, on low points totals. They need the result of the parallel game in Sarajevo to go their way though to have a chance. Spain vs. Germany (in Sevilla) The year has ended in dire straits for the German team, going down 0-6 in Seville against Spain. The Germans had looked in control in their previous match at home in Leipzig against a weakened Ukraine. They had beaten Ukraine, but against Spain, in the first half already, they shipped three goals, while Spain lost two players to injury, one of them their captain, Sergio Ramos. Germany had arrived in Seville from Leipzig with KlasJet and will return to Munich on Wednesday morning. In the meantime, the Spanish team will return to its Madrid base, using an Iberia A330-300 from Seville to Madrid.
